Course content: Physical Education I is a required course. The main objectives are to assist students in attaining a wide range of motor skills, a basic understanding of a variety of activities, and opportunities to utilize these acquired skills for present use and carryover value. Activities include physical fitness testing, flag football, soccer, indoor games, basketball, bowling, softball, tennis, volleyball, aerobics and step aerobics. Sportsmanship and teamwork are strongly promoted. Pre and post skills test as well as written tests will be administered.

Must have passed+ 2 years of P.E.

Course content: The main objectives are to allow students to improve on the activities learned in P.E. I. Students will learn more advance techniques to make activities more challenging. More concentration on lifetime fitness options and goals. Written & observational assessments administered.

 TOTAL BODY FITNESS

Course Requirement:

Must have passed one year of P.E.

Course content: This course is designed for total body fitness. It will include weight training, body sculpting, cardio kickboxing, aerobic dance, floor exercises, step aerobics, interval circuit training, boot camp and proper nutrition. The students will also monitor their resting, working, and recovery heart rates and develop an understanding of the importance of exercise for the cardiovascular system and strength training. Nutrition, observational and written assessments will be administered. Total Body Fitness meets PE I requirements after students have passed one year of PE I.
WEIGHT TRAINING
Course Requirement:
Grades 10-12
Prerequisite:
Must have passed one year of P.E. w/a "C" or better
Length:
Semester class may be repeated for a total of four semesters.
Course content: Students will be given the correct information and techniques of weight training, power training, and cardio fitness. The course is designed to offer various types of programs to fit each student's needs. Students will be given knowledge of how to develop different muscle groups and how to structure their own programs. Workout programs will be developed, and student progress will be monitored. This is a coeducational class. Weight training meets P.E. I requirements after students have passed one year of P.E. I.
Written and observational assessments administered.
