In the News:

The OHS cheerleaders attended camp July 9-12 at UC Santa Cruz. There were 350 participants taking part in the United Spirit Association summer camp in cheer, song (dance), and pep flag.
We were the only northern California team in attendance. Throughout the 4 days of camp, the team is evaluated three times on material they learn as well as what we bring from home. Many of this year's team members are new. Their hard work and dedication paid off and their coaches are so proud! During closing ceremonies on the last day we were awarded a Superior plaque which comes with an invitation to perform at halftime of the Pro Bowl in Hawaii! This honor was only given to the three teams which scored the best on their evaluations. We also received a Spirit award for the entire team and a Most Improved plaque for dance.

Additional recognition was received when two of our team members were "App'd" at the end of camp. Being "App'd" means that the instructors took extra special notice of you and have now invited you to apply to become a camp instructor. Only 10 people were "App'd" at this camp, and usually this honor is reserved for seniors. It was a very special honor to have Jill Cole and Savanna Nethington be invited to apply for USA camp instructor positions. Both girls are juniors this year and are in their third year cheering for OHS.

We will continue our fundraising efforts all season. Look for our cookie dough sales this fall!

The team will be working hard to encourage school spirit and pride throughout the year. To the many individuals and businesses that have and will continue to support our program, we say thank you. GO TROJANS!!

Meet The Coaches

Coaches:
Head Coach: Cailin Foster

Cailin (Kennedy) Foster attended Orland schools, graduating from OHS in 1990. She began her cheerleading career at C.K. Price and continued cheering through all four years of high school.
Cailin attended Cal Poly San Luis Obispo where she earned a BS in Business with a concentration in Accounting. Cailin continued her dedication to cheerleading, cheering both football and basketball seasons all through college.
Cailin recently moved back to Orland with her husband Marc and two children Brynna and Grant. She still loves to dance and perform, and continues to take classes at Hype Dance Studio. This is her second year coaching at OHS.
